Meeting Notification For the  Botetourt GOP Committee 

March 21, 2013---Mass Meeting---Canceled

 There will not be a Mass Meeting for the Botetourt County GOP on March 21, 2013 at the Old General District Courthouse. This Mass Meeting was to be held to elect Delegates to the 2013 GOP Convention. As was stated in the published Call on the RPV, 6^th District and Botetourt County GOP websites as well as published in the “Fincastle Herald” and the ‘Botetourt View”   “ If fewer candidates file for Delegates than spaces available, all properly filed Delegates will be deemed elected and the Mass Meeting will be canceled.”

 Unless we let you know otherwise, the meetings will be held in the Old General District Courtroom in Fincastle starting at 6:30 PM.

Executive Board Meetings will be in the alternate months:  April 18, 2013, and June 20, 2013.

Legislative District Party Canvas (Firehouse Primary)

Of the 19^th Delegate District

Of the Republican Party of Virginia

As Chairman of the 19^th House of Delegates Legislative District Committee of the Republican Party, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Rodney Chrisman, do hereby issue this call for a Legislative District Party Canvas (Firehouse Primary) to be held at the following locations:

1. Lord Botetourt High School, 1435 Roanoke Road, Daleville, VA 24083,
2. The Thaxton Community Center located 5 miles west of Bedford, VA 24523 on route 460 and route 831 [Thaxton School Road] directly opposite Thaxton Elementary School, Thaxton, VA 24174, and
3. The Old Alleghany County Board of Supervisors Board Meeting Room, 110 Rosedale Ave., Covington, VA 24426

from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, local time on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 for the purpose of nominating a Republican candidate for the office of House of Delegates, to be voted for in the GENERAL election on November 5, 2013.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters of the 19^th Delegate District, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally, or in writing, as may be required, their intent to support all of the its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions, or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Each person offering to vote shall present a government issued photographic identification or an official Commonwealth of Virginia Voter Registration card issued by the Botetourt County Registrar, Bedford County Registrar, or the Alleghany County Registrar.

In addition to the foregoing, to be in accord with the Principles of the Republican Party, unless otherwise stipulated by the appropriate Official Committee, a person otherwise qualified hereunder shall not have participated in Virginia in the nomination process of a party other then the Republican Party in the last five (5) years, as specified in the Republican Party of Virginia’s Plan of Organization.

Filing Requirements

Candidates for the election or nomination at said Party Canvas (Firehouse Primary) shall file, using the proper filing form, which must be delivered: by mail to Rodney Chrisman, Chairman, c/o Sandy Gates, Secretary/Treasurer, at P.O. Box 176, Fincastle, VA 24090, or in person to Rodney Chrisman, Chairman, at 1494 Magnolia Dr., Bedford VA. 24523, which must be received no later than 5:00 PM, April 16, 2013. The proper filing form can be obtained by contacting: Rodney Chrisman, Chairman, in writing or by calling (434) 229-5452. The proper filing form must be accompanied by a filing fee of $700.00, payable to: 19^th Republican Delegate District Committee. Postmarks will not rule. If no candidate files in accordance with these requirements, then this said Party Canvas (Firehouse Primary) will be cancelled.

There will be no registration fee to participate in this Party Canvas (Firehouse Primary.)
